Rep. Charlie Rangel charged with ethics violations - NYPOST.com

Back in October I talked about potential ethic violations of Rep. Rangel. Part of my blog talked about a flat tax which ended up dominating the conversation on Facebook. Now that the subcommittee found Rep. Rangal in violation of ethics, but the specific violations have not been made known. Rep. Rangel did have to step down, temporarily, from his Ways and Means chairmanship. I wonder what will take place. On Hardball tonight they did show some video, which I unfortunately could not hear with all the kids running around, but what I did hear was Rep. Rangel trying to accuse the journalist of being from Fox News when in fact he was with ABC.

I had to laugh. Hopefully the full House Ethics Committee will find this bum in violation and throw him out. It is things like this that gives those that want term limits more ammo. We don't need term limits, we need an educated voter to make smart decisions. As I said back in October, why should we pay our taxes if people like Rangel can get away with not paying theirs?

  1. So you don't participate in a race to the bottom. Because it's the law. Because you don't want to be a felon. Because the actions of another don't preclude you from acting in a legal manner. Because you are better than that. Because acting in a same manner would make you no better than him. Because our system of justice should remedy the problem and if it doesn't, the appropriate action is to fix the system, not be a participant in the illegal behavior.

If a murderer gets off with murder does that mean I'm justified in killing someone because another got away with it?

  2. My point is why should American's continue to stand for corrupt politicans. Did you see Tim Russert's attempt to ask Rep. Rangel about the ethics committee? Rep. Rangel wanted to know what station he was from and said that NBC used to be respectful of Congress. I thought that was funny since NBC has basically cowtailed to the Democrats and become their mouthpiece much like Fox news pundits have done for conservatives.

  3. Wondering if tomorrow will bring about a resignation?

  4. Not sure Viper but did you see that Obama is pushing for him to exit gracefully? Just amazing it takes a scandal to end a career in politics.
