RUSH LIMBAUGH

The below comments of mine were printed in the Letter to editor section of the Start Tribune on Sunday Feb. 1, 2009.

RUSH LIMBAUGH
He has a right to express his opinion
Like him or not, Rush Limbaugh's comment that he hopes President Obama fails is a prime example of free speech in America. Limbaugh objects to the direction in which Obama wants to take America. Freedoms afforded every American under the Constitution exist to allow all of us to voice our opinions on whatever topic we wish to without reprisal from the government.

  1. Where was this openess and thirst for critical thinking for the last 8 years? What happened to Patriot Toast and Freedom Fries. I remember a day when questioning our leadership was thought as surrender and unpatriotic. There seems to be a double standard here and some seem to suffer from mememory issues. Obama's been in office for two months.

  2. Agreed that for the majority of the past 8 years it was if President Bush switched parties with the exception of the Patriot Act. Parts of the Patriot Act are needed while parts go to far. Then again it was bi-partisan when voted on. Which may support the notion that President Bush forgot is conservative roots.
